Christopher Burbach has covered local news and written human interest feature stories for the lifetime of a long-lived caveman. His last full-time gig, which ended in April 2025 after nearly 33 years, was reporting on local government and other beats for the Omaha World-Herald. Burbach also has written for the Beatrice Daily Sun and Fremont Tribune in Nebraska, and the Fort Myers (Fla.) News-Press, where he reported and wrote two parts of a 12-part series that won the grand prize in the 1990 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards. He thinks reporting — especially meeting all kinds of people and hearing their stories — is a helluva lot more fun than writing.
